Correction to 'Transcriptional regulation of brain gene expression in response to a territorial intrusion in sticklebacks'.

چکیده
It has come to our attention that the direction of regulation reported in Sanogo et al. [1] is incorrect. Genes that were upregulated in experimental males were, in fact, downregulated and vice versa. The following sentence on page 4932 that begins, ‘“Upregulation” indicates higher expression in experimental males compared with controls’ should instead read ‘“upregulation” indicates higher expression in control males compared with experimentals’. The following caption to figure 1 that states, ‘where “up” refers to higher expression in experimental males’ should instead read ‘where “up” refers to higher expression in control males’. In electronic supplementary material, tables S4–S7, the sign of the fold change (FC) is opposite.

Transcriptional regulation of brain gene expression in response to a territorial intrusion.
Aggressive behaviour associated with territorial defence is widespread and has fitness consequences. However, excess aggression can interfere with other important biological functions such as immunity and energy homeostasis. How the expression of complex behaviours such as aggression is regulated in the brain has long intrigued ethologists, but has only recently become amenable for molecular di...
متن کاملTemporal dynamics of neurogenomic plasticity in response to social interactions in male threespined sticklebacks
Animals exhibit dramatic immediate behavioral plasticity in response to social interactions, and brief social interactions can shape the future social landscape. However, the molecular mechanisms contributing to behavioral plasticity are unclear. Here, we show that the genome dynamically responds to social interactions with multiple waves of transcription associated with distinct molecular func...
متن کاملRegulation of miR159 and miR396 mediated by Piriformospora indica confer drought tolerance in rice
Drought stress is one of the most determinative factors of agriculture and plays a major role in limiting crop productivity. This limitation is going to rising through climate changes. However, plants have their own defense systems to moderate the adverse effects of climatic conditions. MicroRNA-mediated post-transcriptional gene regulation is one of these defense mechanisms. The root endophyti...
متن کاملPotential roles of 5´ UTR and 3´ UTR regions in post-trans-criptional regulation of mouse Oct4 gene in BMSC and P19 cells
Objective(s):OCT4 is a transcription factor required for pluripotency during early embryogenesis and the maintenance of identity of embryonic stem cells and pluripotent cells. Therefore, the effective expression regulation of this gene is highly critical. UTR regions are of great significance to gene regulation. In this study, we aimed to investigate the potential regulatory role played by 5´UT...
متن کاملTranscriptional Response of Structural and Regulatory Genes Involved in Isoprene Biosynthesis and its Relation to Essential Oil Biosynthesis in Response to Salicylic Acid and Abscisic Acid in Mentha piperita L.
Background: In peppermint, precursors for the biosynthesis of monoterpenes are provided by plastidial methyl-erythritol-phosphate (MEP) pathways. Objective: In order to increase our understanding of terpene metabolism in M. piperita, the effect of salicylic acid (SA) and abscisic acid (ABA) in the modulation of expression pattern of genes involved in essential oil biosynthesis and secretion wa...
